Writhe of the Newly Grad Pt. 1
Wake up, wake up little Andrew it’s time to find a job, now that you are done with school.
After graduation, now what? Of course, I have to have a job. No pressure. WHEW! There will no weekly allowance, no extra money to ask for. The truth is I don’t know where to start. I am just very busy finishing off my resume, making it more impressive while keeping my fingers crossed.
I have submitted my resume to a very known company and I am expecting a call from them this week, which I haven’t gotten any and it bothers me already. Late last year, they came to our campus to have this examination for all of the graduating class and I am one of the very few that passed their exams and they told us that they will be calling after a week for our final interview schedule. Days, weeks and months had came by and we did not received a call from them. How sweet of them leaving us all hanging. I asked other friends that had also passed the examination and the preliminary interview and they had the same experience that I had.
They went to school again, same company, early this March, for whatever reason we don’t know, but with another HR team. This time, they took the examinations to another level. It was harder this time. I wasn’t expecting to pass the exams because some of the ‘brainy people’ were unfortunate to know that they did not. I was given a recommendation slip saying that I’ll be having my final interview on the blank day of the third week of April but they have to call me first confirming my schedule on when I will be going to their office.
I guess I’ll just have to follow-up on my application after two weeks. Maybe they just need ‘more time’ to evaluate my application. Haha!
