Good News and Bad News
What do you want to know first? The bad or news or the good news?
The Bad News:
I am not sure though if it is bad or it just that I don’t know if I did it the right way. I want to update my Wordpress so badly that I did it all by myself - not even sure if I did it right. I researched for the instructions and I read it thoroughly. As in I repeatedly did the stuff again and again like a broken record. I also watched a video in YouTube instructing on how to update my Wordpress. Everyone knows this that I am new to this blogging thing and I am just starting to learn each day, a step at a time. What I did was, as instructed from the video and the site as well that I should make a backup for my database so what I did was to download the Wordpress Database Backup. After I unzipped and installed it on my Wordpress and activating it and created a backup for my database.
So far so good.
I downloaded the new Wordpress version 2.5 and unzipped it and I used the FileZilla Client to establish connection to my site like what I am doing when I am installing a plugin or a theme. I deleted the wp-admin and wp-includes as instructed and replaced them with the files that I unzipped I did not included the wp-contents because of course the contents of that folder are my collection of themes and plugins. I was very nervous while doing it because I don’t know if what I am doing was right and I was hoping, really hoping that I was doing the right thing but I got the feeling that I am doing it the wrong way. I don’t know if it is just me or what. Afew minutes later, I went to a url that I have to go after replacing the files. I went there saying the No updates required and the version of my Wordpress is now 2.5…
I was browsing, taking a look on the new Wordpress, reactivated my plugins and decided to change my Header Image. I uploaded the picture that I want and after cropping the image it doesn’t seem to be totally there… I am totally lost now.
The Good News:
I am trying to post a blog thanking BluePanJeet for what he just did. He posted me on his blog featuring the newbies on blogging. It was totally unexpected. Thanks Bluep for being superest super duper nice and for the support…
